Today I joined my friend Heinz on the Buchau saddle near the village of Weng. In the morning at 06 am and a good -10 degrees we set off to find a place in sufficient altitude in time for sunrise. We decided to climb up the deeply snowed-in forest path to the Grabner Alm. Just in time we found a nice spot with a view towards Gesäuse and Admonter Reichenstein. On the way back we caught the sun near the church of Weng as it appeared above the Reichenstein mountain group.
